Farlight
My submission for the IGDA 2020 eJam! Great job everyone, and good luck!
Farlight is a brick-breaker style short game, where you control a moving platform, attempting to bounce a ball around the screen to knock down the presents. Catch the presents with your platform to earn points, but don't forget to keep your ball bouncing!
Controls:
A & D / Left & Right Arrow Keys -- Move platform
Spacebar -- Launch ball

Thanks very much for taking the time to play my game! This is the first game jam I am doing as a one man team, my first game created solo, and the first time ever creating my own art assets. I think, perhaps, I won't be doing the latter after this experience - but after a slow start and a rocky weekend, I'm happy to present my entry!
Lots of potential for reflection with this project: among the more obvious fixes (ball and box physics that seem to go haywire sometimes), there are several details that escaped my time limits that I would have liked to implement. Such as:
- Multiple levels
- A victory AND a defeat screen
- Different effects on the "bricks"
- More cohesive sound effects
- Trails on the fireworks!
